Front Row by Dorothee Falke
Dorothee Falke loves music and everything began with the Beatles. Since many years the medium photography allows her to stand in the front row at concerts getting close to all musicians from B.B .King, James Brown to actual characters like Gossip or Mando Diao.
She has always a loaded analog camera beside her digital one, which she is using for her editorial agency work. The analog camera is made to catch certain atmospheres and situations on stage and the motional depth of the acting artists in black & white, magic moments.
Dorothee has her own darkroom, so working with the negatives, especially when the image appears on the paper while bathing in the developer, is her personal magic moment after the show. She conserves all that motions on the final print, giving you a real front row feeling, that's the real thing for her.
We're happy that we can share these real moments in form of 36 selected black & white images in our current exhibition.
